Linda experienced complications and needed a caesarean. While
the birth was happening, Paul waited, praying like mad and he came up with a name for his new music group; a vision of an
angel with wings and he had thought that it was a nice image. He later discusses the image to Linda while she recovered and
Wings became the band's name. Before she was a year old up until 8 years old, Stella accompanied her siblings and parents
around the world for Wings' tours. After 1980, Wings broke up and Paul, Linda, and the children settled down with the children
attending local public schools. At the age of 15, Stella gained an interest in fashion design, inspired by her mother's style.
She worked with Christian Lacroix and learned her own craft at Saville Row, London, England. In 1995, Stella graduated from St. Martin's School of Art in London after displaying her designs at Islington's Business
Design Centre with her parents and James in attendance. Stella was offered to work with Ralph Lauren but instead replaced
Karl Lagerfeld as the head designer for Chloe in Paris, France in 1997. In March of 1998, Linda made her last public appearance at Stella's
fashion show. Since 1995, Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 1998, at first it looked like she beaten it until the
cancer spread to her liver. In April of that year, the McCartney family traveled to Tucson, Arizona for a family holiday. Sadly, Linda died with her family around her. For
her next fashion show, Stella dedicated it to her mother. In November of 2000, Stella and Mary attended the opening of Linda
McCartney Centre at Royal Liverpool University Hospital where breast cancer is researched and help aide patients
with the disease. In 2000, after Paul announced that he was with Heather Mills; reports claimed that Heather and Stella do
not get along. Heather has said that she and Paul's children do get along while Paul admitted that his romance to Heather
has been hard on the children. However despite the negative reports, Heather has attended Stella's fashion shows and in June
of 2002, Stella attended Paul and Heather's wedding in Ireland. In 2001, Stella left Chloe and developed her own fashion
line with Gucci. In 2003, Stella expanded her empire with perfume made by flowers that Linda used to have around the house.
Stella also became a fashion store owner, based in London, New York City, and Los Angeles. An animal lover and rights activist, Stella teamed up with Peta and
narrated a documentary on animal cruelty and made sure her designs are not made by any animal products. Stella was involved
with Nick Milner, Ollie Buckwell, and Lenny Kravitz over the years. In 2000, Stella became serious with Alasdhair Willis,
a magazine publisher. In 2002, Alasdhair proposed and Stella accepted. On August 31, 2003, Alasdhair and Stella were married
in Scotland with family and friend in attendance. Stella designed her own wedding dress, inspired by Linda's dress when she married
Paul in 1969. In early November, Stella and Alasdhair cut their honeymoon short when her half sister, Beatrice, was born.
On October 7, 2004, during her 2005 Spring/Summer Fashion Show, Stella announced that she was pregnant with her first child. On February
25, 2005,
Stella and Alasdhair welcomed their first child, Miller Alasdhair James Willis, in London, England. Paul and Heather visited the hospital to see the new
addition to the family. It has been reported that Stella will not be able to attend her fashion show in Paris, as she will be on maternity leave.
The following year, after Paul and Heather announced their separation and divorce plans, Stella announced that she was pregnant
again. On December 8, 2006, Stella gave birth to Bailey Linda Olwyn Willis and continued to comfort Paul during his
divorce proceedings. On January 8, 2008, Stella gave birth to a baby boy, Beckett Robert Lee Willis in London, England. In
2009, Stella was named in Time's 100 Most Influentional People in the World.
